หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Evaluation of Channel Catfish Feeds in Long-Term Pond studies and Short term Aquarium Studies) ผู้เขียน:วิมล จันทรโรทัย, Richard T. Lovell สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractResponses of two sizes; 3 g and 60 g channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus) to five commercial feeds (1, 2, 3, 4 and 5) and a negative control (contained low quality plant protein) were evaluated in earthen ponds and in glass aquaria, respectively. The commercial feeds were prepared from closed formulas but estimated to contain 32% crude protein, approximately 2.5 Kcal/g of digestible energy. Growth rate of fish fed feed 1, 2 and 3 were higher than those of fish fed feeds 4, 5 and the negative control in both ponds and aquaria (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in weight gains among fish fed feed 1, 2 and 3 or among fish fed feeds 4, 5 and the negative control in the ponds (P>0.05). However, in the aquaria, fish fed feed 2 gained more weight than fish fed the other feeds, and fish fed feed 5 and the negative control grew less than those fed feed 4 (P<0.05). Feed conversion ratios for fish fed in ponds were higher than those for fish fed in the aquaria except for the negative control. The correlation in weight gain between fish fed feeds in ponds and aquaria was 0.73 (P<0.05). The agreement in weight gain between ponds and aquarium was high for the good quality feeds but poor for the low quality feeds. There was no correlation in feed conversion ratio between fish fed in ponds and aquaria (P>0.05). The results indicate that aquarium studies are more sensitive than pond studies for evaluating nutritional qualities among practical diets. However, natural food from the pond can improve productivity of poor quality feeds. |

หัวเรื่อง:อัตราส่วนสูงสุดของคาร์โบไฮเดรตจากปลายข้าวดิบต่อลิปิดในอาหารปลาดุกลูกผสม ผู้เขียน:วิมล จันทรโรทัย, Prasert Sitasit, Siriporn Rajchapakdee สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractFive semipurified palletized diets, diets 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 contained raw broken rice as a carbohydrate source at the inclusion rate of 30.0, 37.0, 45.0, 52.5 and 60.0%, respectively. The diets were used to determine the maximum dietary level of raw broken rice for hybrid Clarias catfish (Clarias macrocephalus x C. gariepinus). All diets were isonitrogenous with 33% protein and were isocaloric with gross energy (GE) of 428-439 Kcal/100g. The GE of each diet was adjusted isocaloricly by balancing the broken rice and squid liver oil-lard mix so that the diets provided carbohydrate to lipid ratios (CHO:L) of 2.54:1, 3.38:1, 6.61:1, 11.23:1, and 20.24:1, respectively. The diets were fed Ad libitum twice daily for 60 days to 22.0 g hybrid Clarias catfish housed within 200-L indoor circular fiberglass tanks. Total dry feed and protein consumption of the fish fed diet 1 was less than those of fish fed diets 2, 3, 4 and 5 (P<0.05). Weight gain of fish fed diets 2, 3, 4 and 5 was not different (P>0.05) but they were superior to that of fish fed diet 1 (P<0.05). Feed efficiency ratio (FE) was poorest for diet 1 and was highest for diet 2 which was also higher than the FE for diet 5 (P<0.05) but not for diets 3 and 4 (P>0.05). Protein efficiency ratio and protein retention showed the same statistical finding as did FE. The body energy retention of fish fed diets 2, 3, and 4 was higher than that of fish fed diets 1 and 5 (P<0.05). Hepatosomatic index of fish fed diet 1 was lower than that of fish fed diet 5, but the inverse finding was observed for liver lipid deposition. The study suggested that a diet for hybrid Clarias catfish with the indicated protein and energy levels could contain up to 50% of native carbohydrate from raw broken rice which is equivalent to 52.5% of raw broken rice by weight, However, the lipid level in such diet should not be less than 4.4% to maintain CHO:L of 11.23:1 |
หัวเรื่อง:ไม่มีชื่อไทย (ชื่ออังกฤษ : Effects of Dietary Fiber and Its Optimum Levels for Growth of Hybrid Clarias Catfish (Clarias macrocephalus x Clarias gariepinus)) ผู้เขียน:วิมล จันทรโรทัย, นฤมล ติ้วพานิช สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractSix isonitrogenous (37.0% protein) and isocaloric (2.8 Kcal digestible energy/g) diets were formulated to contain 0, 3.0, 6.0, 9.0 and 12.0% rice hull (diets 1 - 5) and 12.0% cellulose (diet 6). The formulated diets were used for determination the effects of dietary fiber and its optimum levels for growth and diet utilization of hybrid Clarias catfish. The diets were fully fed to juvenile (2.5 g) and young (58.0 g) hybrid Clarias catfish held in 120 - L glass aquaria twice daily for eight weeks. The study showed that dietary fiber up to 12.0% (10% crude fiber) had no adverse effect on growth, survival and diet utilization of juvenile and young fish. However, there was trend for maximum growth and diet utilization in juvenile fish fed diets containing 6.0 - 12.0% rice hull (3.5 - 6.5% crude fiber) and in young catfish fed 9.0 - 12.0% rice hull (5.0 - 6.5% crude fiber). The dietary fiber at the levels used in this study had no effect on intestinal length, stomach weight and hepatosomatic index of the experimental fish. However, juvenile fish fed diet containing 12.0% cellulose deficated more fecal materials than that of fish fed the other diets. |

หัวเรื่อง:การประเมินค่าโปรตีนในอาหารปลาดุกลูกผสมที่ระดับให้ผลตอบแทนทางเศรษฐศาสตร์สูงสุด ผู้เขียน:วิมล จันทรโรทัย สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractSpecific growth data obtained from feeding hybrid Clarias catfish (C. macrocephalus x C. gariepinus) in 80-L glass aquaria with each of five isocaloric diets (280 Kcal/100g) contained protein ranged from 25 to 45% in 5% increment for 10 weeks was used in the present study. The data was subjected to the quadratic regression analysis to estimate to estimate the economic protein requirement of the fish. It was found that dietary protein at 41% resulted in maximum growth of the fish. However, the maximum economic returns were obtained when dietary protein ranged from 33-36% or at 33.2% when current cost of commercial catfish feed and value of catfish were used for the calculation. |

พัฒนี จันทรโรทัย, รองศาสตราจารย์, Prasert Sitasit, Thavee Viputhanumas สื่อสิ่งพิมพ์:pdf AbstractSeven isocaloric diets (4.6 kcal/g.) with approximately 35% protein and 44.3% carbohydrate from either sucrose, dextrin, corn starch, wheat flour. Rice starch, glutinuos rice starch and manoic starch were used to compare on their efficacy as energy sources for hybrid Clarias catfish. The diets were fed to apparent satiation twice daily to three replicates of 20 fish (3 g each) kept in 80-L glass aquaria for 4 weeks. Specific growth rate of fish fed with wheat flour diet (9.33%/d) was superior (P<0.05) to those of fish fed with other diets (8.2-8.8%/d), which were not significantly different (P>0.05). Feed conversion ratio (1.0-1.4), protein efficiency ratio (2.0-2.6), protein gain (33-43%), energy gain (22-33%) and carcass compositions for all dietary treatments did not differ (P>0.05) The study was concluded that wheat flour is the best for promoting growth of hybrid Clarias catfish. This is possibly due to higher protein content (13-14%) of wheat flour per se. Besides wheat flour, hybrid Clarias catfish can equally utilize sucrose, dextrin, corn starch, glutinous rice starch and manoic starch as energy sources with high efficacy. |
